OUR COVID-19 PROTOCOL

Updated 15 September 2022

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as other bugs, we require your help and cooperation.

As Registered Nurses, we are all adhering to the COVID-19 infection control & business policies, and all our staff are fully vaccinated.

No walk-in appointments and we encourage mask use.

Stay home if
  • -you may have been exposed to COVID-19.
  • -you have symptoms of COVID-19

Your ears can wait, and we will see you when you are healthy ☺

Symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  • Dry cough
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Loss of taste and/or smell
  • Flu-like symptoms
Sinus issues

Could your blocked ears be a result of sinus issues from being unwell? Please read our sinus relief guide. These steps should help with relief if you are unwell and staying home. We are very happy for you to call us on 03 384 4668 or email us at info@ear.net.nz for ear advice instead of coming into the clinic.

Are you a new client?

If so, please fill out our Patient Health Questionnaire for new clients prior to your appointment if possible, and email to info@ear.net.nz - this helps us reduce the use of shared clipboards. We provide free individual pens for you to keep if you do need to use one.

Do your part fighting COVID-19

Come on your own if possible

To reduce people in the waiting room, please try to come to your appointment on your own if you can, or with a required caregiver. We would appreciate if you could organise your appointment for a time when this is possible.

Be exactly on time

We would appreciate if you arrive at the exact time of your appointment, or two minutes earlier if you are a new client. This is to reduce the number of people in our waiting room.

Social distancing

Please keep your distance from others. We recommend you wait in your car until your appointment time if you are here early to reduce the number of people in our waiting rooms.

Masks

We encourage mask use. We have face masks available if required.

Hand Sanitiser

We have hand sanitiser at the door – please use this when you come into the clinic.

If you have your own, please use it before you come into the waiting room.

Basic Hygiene

  • Keep at least 2m distance from others.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • We encourage face mask use.
  • Sneeze or cough into your elbow or a tissue.
  • Put used tissues straight into a plastic bag or bin.
  • Use hand sanitiser regularly.
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and hot water for over 20 seconds, and dry your hands thoroughly.
  • Stay away from others if you feel unwell.
  • Be considerate and respectful of people around you.

Thank you for your help and we appreciate your cooperation.
